DEEP . TECH . TECHNO
A young, Dutch talent from the Netherlands, ready to prove himself on national and international behalfs.
Janick Megroot, born in Heinkenszand (Zeeland) in 1991, discovered his passion for the DJ-decks and studio gear when he was 17. He waited patiently for opportunities to occur and took them if he had the chance. His talent was discovered by local party crews after a few years of practice. They had seen the possibilities in the young DJ and Janick was willing to give it a shot. The key to success was in his own hands and the first parties for large crowds were a large succes. Local awareness was created and was able to spread evenly. This resulted in some gigs which made the basics to keep on expanding the possibilities. Janick was able to enter line-ups with names such as Pfirter, Happa, Rødhåd, Kr!z, Michel de Hey, Benny Rodrigues, Koen Lebens and Wouter de Moor.
Janick's own productions are also getting in better shape. The DJ decks are frequently changed for a set of studio tools. Hours of tweaking and aiming for perfection will eventually create a golden combination. An investment in time, patience and experience will eventually create results. This would be the perfect mix for Janick. To not only share the passion for true techno as a DJ, but a a producer as well.
Rotterdam Outdoor welcomed Janick Megroot in 2014 and he showed his skills in the final set of the Talent Stage. Janick was aiming for more where that came from and with a little coincidence he managed to participate in a DJ contest of I Love Techno. The battle for a spot in the Black Room was not only seen as a challenge, but as a goal. Together with two others Janick managed to position himself in the finales. The competition bit the dust. The judges were amazed with his performance and were very pleased with the more dark and raw sides of techno that Janick showed in his set. The perfect match for the Black Room and a 100% guarantee to appear on the lineup of I Love Techno. The ultimate way to show himself to the public, but even more to share the true passion of techno with thousands of others. According to Janick, the future will bring releases of dark techno sounds in cooperation with large labels.
